FACT ON THE BACK:
Guts:
The stomach, small intestines and large intestines, which make up part of your "GUT" are very important when it comes to health. The root of many diseases and issues that people experience can be found in the gut. The human gut contains 100 trillion different types of bacteria - that is 10 times as many bacteria as there are cells in the entire human body. This is why it is SO important to make sure your gut is healthy – because it affects every other aspect of your health and life.
Heart:
A fact about the heart will come on the back - it will vary
Kidney:
You've got two kidneys but you can live with just one. The kidney's main role is to dispose of waste products in the form of urine. That is why drinking enough water is really important to kidney health. Blood enters your kidneys through arteries and then connects to millions of tiny tube-like nephrons. These filter the blood, drop by drop, separating good from bad. All the blood in your body passes through the kidneys over 400 times per day! Useful substances get absorbed and toxic wastes like urea and ammonia are secreted into the urine. Your kidneys also help regulate blood pressure, electrolyte balance and they produce a hormone responsible for red blood cell production.
Lungs:
You take 23,000 breaths every day. That is 8.3 million each year! Your lungs are made up of networks of small tubes that carry air down into millions of microscopic sacs called alveoli. Wrapped around the outside of each are capillaries, your tiniest blood vessels. These vessels are so thin that oxygen can melt right through their walls and enter your bloodstream. Likewise, carbon dioxide can evaporate outward from the blood and into the breath. You breathe in and out all day log - even while you're asleep or thinking about something else - thanks to the medulla oblongata! It automatically regulates breathing, until you decide to take control for speech, swimming or birthday parties
Pelvis:
The pelvis is the largest bony structure in your entire body and it is really strong! Centered from the sacrum (tailbone), the pelvis is composed of a symmetrical pair of hip bones. Each hip bone has three sections: the ilium, the ischium and the pubis. The pelvis is the only bone in your body that is gender specific, with a woman's being wider. The pelvic cavity holds the reproductive organs, the bladder, the colon and the rectum. The movement of the spine between your pelvis and your ribcage plays an important part in balance and core strength.
Spine:
Your spine is an extremely important part of your body. The spine is actually a flexible bony tube made up of 33 vertebral bones, 220 ligaments, and over 100 joints. The collective movement of these joints allows the spine to be both strong and flexible. They hold your head and torso upright while allowing the neck and head to move, vend and twist. This vertebral column protects your spinal cord within, linking your brain with the nerves in your torso, legs and arms.
